Dr. Alba Ribera Martínez is a scholar of EU digital regulation whose research addresses the governance of digital platforms and data-driven markets. Her work bridges academic analysis and institutional practice on different fronts and feeds from conversations with different stakeholders and disciplines. She has advised competition authorities in Spain, Catalonia, and Latin America, contributed expert input to French, Brazilian and European regulatory processes, and published in leading competition and technology law journals across multiple languages. Trained in both competition law and legal practice, she brings a comparative and interdisciplinary perspective to the legal challenges posed by technological change.

Lecturer in Competition Law at University Villanueva and Visiting Professor in Digital Platform Regulation at the Brussels Study Center. Currently advising competition authorities on a number of topics related to digital regulation. PhD in Competition Law at University Carlos III of Madrid under the thesis 'Move Fast and Break Nothing: EU Competition Law Interacting with Data Protection Interests', with the highest distinction (summa cum laude). Her current research interests include digital regulation, tech law, competition law, Artificial Intelligence, fundamental rights, and data protection regulation. Expert in the area of antitrust, both with a Master's in Competition Law from University Carlos III of Madrid and Short Course on Advanced EU Competition Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science. 

 

She worked at the Spanish competition authority (CNMC) as an Assistant Researcher to the Council, with experience in the Competition Directorate and the Chief of Staff's Office.
